Weird “Science” Defeated

In what was probably the most closely watched school board race in the country, all eight members of the Dover, Pa., school board that introduced creationism (so-called “intelligent design”) into the biology curriculum have been shown the door by voters.

Word is that the defeated school board members plan to spend more time with their families, including a possible group vacation to see the edge of the earth.

Thanks, Rob. I hadn't seen this news item yet.

I read it in the New York Times, if you want to read more.

What a relief! We know someone who's from Dover, and she says that the school system had a lot of other problems besides the ID thing.

But still, I'm glad those idiots lost their jobs. My disgust for creationists is disturbingly deep and rancid.

Does anyone get the feeling after last night that things are starting to turn around? Do we dare hope?

Well, hope was the last the last thing to come out of Pandora's box, and it's sure seemed like someone cracked that fucker open nice and wide these past few years.

So maybe, yeah.
