Grindhouse

April 6 is gonna be a banner day. Here's why.

No trailer has ever made me want to see a movie more.

(Not including the image I really want to use, because you should see it in the trailer first. But oh, man.)

DITTO with a capital DITTO, Rob. I'd try to make it out there for the opener (Snakes on a Plane-style), but I don't think it's going to work out. (I'll be in touch.)

I'm mildly worried that the bombast of Planet Terror is apparently playing first, followed by the relatively small scale of Death Proof -- seems like you'd want to build up to the bigger booms if you're going to keep the audience around for 3+ hours. Still, this sequence is probably truer to the grindhouse double feature tradition (flashy and "big budget", followed by dark and cheap).

Even if the two movies themselves don't deliver on expectations, I've read that there will also be trailers for other "coming attractions" -- kung fu, blaxpoitation, etc. Awww yeah.

Have you noticed that if you still-frame through the Quicktime trailer there's a very quick image of something that looks very much like a ferret in the "RESTRICTED No Admittance To Persons Under 18" jumble at the very beginning of the trailer? Right before the Grindhouse definition.

Talk about subliminal advertising. No wonder you went for it.

The movies looks mega-cool, too.

I'll be all over this like white on rice.

I've been looking forward to it for a couple months already!

Wow -- now that you mention it, there it is -- with a big red RESTRICTED in it. I'd guess it's more of a tiger silo than a ferret, though... but still very cool to us tigerchasers.
