William Bennett Can Stick His Moral Compass Up His Ass

The radio host said: "You could abort every black baby in the country, and the crime rate would go down."

I know that they have to let him speak at the Gambler's Anonymous meetings ("Hi Bill!"), but do they have to give this holier-than-thou racist yahoo a radio show? I wonder how many Republican rallies this guy speaks at?

I can't fuckin' believe he said that.

No one so despicable ever pretended to be so virtuous as Bennett does. The gap between who he is and who he thinks he is--Evil Knievel couldn't leap that puppy.

I just hope that this is the bullet that shoots his high horse to put it out of its misery. It'd be a shame if he could ride it for another few miles.

Wow, your metaphor out-stretchied mine. Good job.

You know it's bad when even the White House criticizes you.

The problem is, whenever anyone says stuff this outrageous, it always starts a dialogue. I guarantee George Will will somehow try to defend him on Stephanopoulos's show tomorrow.

I read Freakonomics. Great book. At the end of the famous chapter, they discuss whether the loss of life from abortions outweighs the gain of life from the drop in violent crime. Even if you consider one fetus only 1/100th of a person, more people-equivalents died from abortion than were saved from violent crime. So the authors are by no means saying abortion is a good thing. But people who criticize rarely actually read what they're criticizing.

Yeah, I polished that metaphor up good'n shiny, just how I likes it.

I'm glad to hear Freakonomics is good; we'll be getting it on audiobook soon. I've been interested in reading it ever since I saw one of the authors on The Daily Show.
